Clinical Soft Tissue Therapist and Exercise Referral Practitioner.
What is involved in the treatment part of the appointment.
My focus is on providing person centred treatments and rehabilitation programmes, that optimise your recovery and overall wellbeing, aligned to your goals; utilising a combination of massage, manual therapy and exercise/ movement.
What are my qualifications.
I served 27 years in the Royal Marines and have over 20 years of experience in coaching physical training and injury rehabilitation which gives me the qualification of Exercise Referral Practitioner. Realising that massage plays a big part in recovery, to compliment my rehabilitation experience I qualified as a BTEC Level 5 Clinical Soft Tissue Therapist in 2015. In 2023 I completed a Level 7 qualification in Leading the Optimising Human Performance in an Organisation. I am also an Olympic Bronze Medallist and Double Olympian, and currently a tutor with The ST School.
What can I help with.
My holistic approach to your treatment will benefit anyone who is looking to reduce their aches and pains, whether they be new or long standing, through to those who are looking to return to their hobby’s and sports at all levels of ability. Examples below.
- Injury Rehabilitation
- Persistent Lower Back Pain
- Chronic Pain conditions like Fibromyalgia
- Osteoarthritis
What happens in an appointment with me.
A consultation form will be sent to you automatically when you book. When you come in for you appointment, we will sped some time expanding on your answers, as it is important to understand the history of the problem and your relationship with it. Once this is complete we will then go into the treatment and discuss a treatment plan going forwards.
What else do I offer.
I also offer Pregnancy Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Acupuncture, Taping and Breathwork for Stress Management, Improved Sleep and Performance.
‘Mens sana in corpore sano’ A healthy mind in a healthy body.
I am a soft tissue therapist and a qualified personal trainer. I completed my Soft Tissue Therapy course with The School under Anna Maria Mazzieri.
Health, fitness and wellbeing are big passion of mine and I am driven by helping people achieve their goals however small or big they might be.
I integrate Massage therapy at its highest level with more advanced techniques and exercise and movement advice. So for example if you have back pain I will do a thorough assessment to understand the factors around it and how you move then I will treat with Massage Therapy before advising you on what type of movement and exercises you could be doing to feel better.
I have worked in different settings to gain a wide range of skillset ranging from treating sports injuries to chronic conditions like Osteoarthritis, experience has shown I have good clinical results which I know will be enhanced by being part of The Clinic team and benefit from the collective expertise.
Outside of work I really enjoy spending time outdoors, gym and swimming. I also love baking! You’ll often find me in the kitchen making anything from bread to cookies to triple chocolate brownies! Which I am now glad to share with the team at The Clinic.
If you want to have a chat with me in advance to your appointment to see if I am the right person for you please do not hesitate to contact me directly magda@theclinicdevon.co.uk
